This policy explains what information Balds (balds.com) collects, why, and what choices you have. It applies to this website only.

Who we are
Balds is an independent information website about hair loss, published by the Balds Editorial Team. You can reach us through our contact page.
Information you give us directly
The only way to send us information deliberately is our contact form. When you use it, we receive the name, email address and message you type in, so that we can read and reply to it. Those submissions are stored in this website’s administration area. We do not use them for marketing, we do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell or rent them to anyone.
Please do not send medical details, photographs of your scalp, or other sensitive personal information through the form. We are not a medical service and cannot act on it.
Information collected automatically
Like nearly all websites, our server records ordinary technical details of each visit — the pages requested, the date and time, your approximate location derived from your IP address, your browser and device type, and the site you arrived from. This is used to keep the site working, diagnose faults, and understand in aggregate which articles people find useful.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site uses them in two ways:
- Necessary cookies — set by WordPress to make the site function, for example to keep a logged-in editor signed in. These are not used to track readers.
- Advertising cookies — set by our advertising partners, described below.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking advertising cookies does not stop you reading anything on this site; it generally means the advertising you see is less relevant rather than absent.
Advertising
This site is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense to display ads.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
- Advertising partners may collect their own technical and behavioural data under their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
Advertisers have no influence over our editorial content. We do not accept payment to review, recommend or favour any treatment, product or clinic, and we do not make product efficacy claims.
Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns — which articles are read, and roughly where readers arrive from. This is used in aggregate to decide what to write next, not to build profiles of individuals.
How long we keep information
Contact-form submissions are kept while they are useful for answering you and for our own records, and are deleted when they are not. Server logs are rotated and overwritten on an ordinary schedule.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. Information is only shared with the service providers who host this site and serve its advertising, and where we are legally required to disclose it.
Your choices and rights
You can control cookies through your browser, opt out of personalised advertising through the links above, and ask us to delete a message you sent through the contact form. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights over your personal data — including the right to request a copy of it, correct it, or have it erased. Contact us and we will act on reasonable requests.
Children
This site is written for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
External links
We sometimes link to other websites, including health organisations. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for their content or practices.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
Not medical advice
Balds publishes general educational information about hair loss. It is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not a substitute for care from a qualified clinician.
