Contact

If you have a question about something we have published, spotted an error, or want to suggest a topic we have not covered, send us a message below. We read everything that comes in.

What we can help with

  • Corrections, unclear wording, or anything on the site that looks out of date
  • Topic suggestions — questions about hair loss you could not find a straight answer to
  • General questions about the site, how it is written, or how it is funded

What we cannot help with

Please do not send us photographs of your scalp or descriptions of your symptoms in the hope of a diagnosis. We are writers and editors, not clinicians, and we will not guess at what is happening to your hair. Assessing hair loss properly needs someone who can look at your scalp, take a history, and order tests if they are warranted. A doctor or a dermatologist can do that; we cannot, and pretending otherwise would not be doing you a favour.

For the same reason we cannot tell you whether a particular treatment, clinic or product will work for you, or what dose of anything to take.

Balds publishes general information about hair loss, not medical advice. If your hair loss is sudden, patchy, painful, or accompanied by other unexplained symptoms, please see a doctor.

About what you read here. Everything on Balds is general information and our own editorial opinion. We research carefully and we say when the evidence is unclear, but we can be wrong, things change, and no article can know your particular situation. Please do your own research and make your own judgement rather than treating anything here as the final word. This is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not a substitute for speaking to a doctor or a dermatologist about your own hair loss and thinning. We are writers and researchers, not clinicians. We do not recommend prescription treatments or give doses. If something is painful, getting worse, or worrying you, please talk to a professional — going early is not an overreaction.
